Top 5 Products Used in the First Few Months with a Newborn

For the sake of this blog, I’ll be discussing the products we’ve used most frequently with the baby (not with postpartum healing, but I’ll link a reel here with my must-haves).

As a 4th time mom, I’ve become pretty minimalist and only wanted to purchase things that I knew we would get a TON of use out of.

  1. First up, our VAVA nightlight! I love that we can move it from bedside to the changing table, that it’s a dimmable orange (not yellow) light, and that it doesn’t have to be plugged in all the time. SO helpful for those middle of the night feedings/changings.

  2. White noise, duh. We use our lectrofan micro in the car, when we wear baby, and also around the house when we are rocking him to sleep. It goes everywhere with us and holds its charge so well. We use the lectrofan classic for night time sleep or nap sleep when baby sleeps in the pack n play.

  3. Swaddles/Sleep sacks are definitely on the list– the last step of our routine is always putting one on baby which is so helpful in building a sleep association for them.

  4. Baby carriers are a LIFE SAVER. We most often use the Ergo Embrace, but I have a Solly Baby wrap for back up. When they’re older, we use our Lillebaby carrier.

  5. BioGaia vit D + probiotics drops– now this is NOT medical advice, but I have always given a probiotic to my babies especially when they’re younger and struggling with digestion. The strand in BioGaia is the most research supported strand in positive effects for baby.

Bonus– this isn’t a “baby” product, but the Legendairy Milk Imani wearable breast pump is where it’s at, ya’ll. As an overproducer, I appreciate the 7oz collection cups and that it empties me as well as my Spectra S1/S2 does. The ease of pumping on the go and while I’m doing things around the house is PRICELESS. I could never justify the price of more expensive wearable pumps, but the price point on these was much easier to budget for!

*other honorable mentions:

  • Pack n play (we don’t typically use a bassinet because we can use a pack n play for longer

  • Slumberpod (so helpful when room sharing and traveling, code HEAVENSENT$20 saves $20!)

  • Angelcare baby bath

  • Tubby todd for skin care (save 15% with this link)

  • Frida system for cradle cap

  • Ubbi diaper pail (love that it doesn’t require special trash bags)

  • VAVA baby monitor

  • Talli Baby tracker (HEAVENSENTSLEEP saves $10 and the app is so great!)

I think it’s always helpful to think of the “must haves” and “nice to haves” so that you feel prepared for that newborn stage!
